The New 52 - How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Reboot My Comics!
Greetings Programs,
if you know what the title of this post is referring to, well, then you know that this it’s time for some changes.
There will be some changes here at Robot Bully. Nothing too crazy, nothing to lose sleep over. Because, that would be sad. So, let’s get started.
I have decided to drop the title, ‘Monster Valley High’. There are a few reasons for this. The first being, I no longer wish to limit my world to the chaos of the public education system. There will always be a Rondo Hatton Memorial High…in our hearts and on the internet…I just had to drop the title. The biggest reason being a crappy toy line and cartoon called…you guessed it…’Monster High’.
Have you seen this trash? It’s pushing the lowest common denominator of horror to preteen girls (yes, there are a few male characters, but let’s be honest, it’s aimed at little girls). It’s lame, just lame. The characters are dressed like something out of the Jersey Shore. So parents, when your little one opens a gateway to Hell, and has an STD, you know who to blame.
The hilarious thing is, recently being at a comic con, when I was pitching my comics to someone, a stranger blurted out, ‘You did Monster High, the thing on TV?’
Sigh.
It was time for a change.
The second change is there will be updates on Thursdays. I struggled for a long time with this. I thought, ‘Why not do Tuesdays, and just try to update a second day during the week?’
The thing is, I say I will, but I won’t. I just have no time. Between, my day job, Luche Libre, and home life, I just don’t have time…but…that’s not the main reason. The big reason for this change is backgrounds. Take a look. No backgrounds. When I started Robot Bully, the idea was to do three panel, stand alone comic strips. In, out, and funny. It’s all I wanted. Now, I want something else. I want bigger stories, and bigger payoffs. I will be doing these backgrounds for now, and then I will announce a new background artist. Someone I trust and love like a brother. If you like this comic, trust me, you are going to love this guy. So, look out on Thursdays for a brand new page. Keep in mind, as soon as I can quit my day job, I will be posting new comics two to three times a week.
I hope you, loyal reader, will not be turned away from my comics. I am doing this to put out a better product. I hope you understand.
Thank you from the bottom of my cold, dead, heart, J
